Hundreds of mourners gathered at St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was given posthumous honours at the service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective became emotional in the witness box while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The moment drew visible distress from people in the courtroom. Separately, hundreds assembled at Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The crowd stood in solidarity as the occasion was observed across Sydney.
