Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been signed by Geelong, with the deal confirmed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been strongly connected to the Cats after Essendon placed a strong asking price on the defender. Essendon were holding out for significant return throughout the trade period.
The completed swap gives Geelong an seasoned backline option while Essendon gains Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is a multi-position player who bolsters the Essendon list heading into the pre-season period.
