Verstappen does the double with pole and sprint race win at F1's Singapore Grand Prix - Winnipeg Free Press

Verstappen Wins Singapore Sprint After Russell Crash

Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 sprint race at Marina Bay in Singapore on Saturday after race leader George Russell was eliminated by a crash in wet conditions. Verstappen also took pole for the main grand prix, capping a big day for the Red Bull driver.

A collision between Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll drew attention during the sprint. After his win, Verstappen told reporters F1 should get rid of sprint weekends at circuits like Singapore, where overtaking is almost out of the question. The main race is scheduled for Sunday.
